10/20/2005

  • Just read on Robert Jordan's blog:  For Alys Kinch, the Healing of stilling must be done by the other gender to be fully effective. A woman Healing a woman or a man Healing a man results in less than full restoration. It all ties into that theme I keep harping on. Men and women have to work together to be their most effective. And while the weave used by Flinn for Healing is not exactly that used by Nynaeve, either would use the same weave on a man or a woman.
So, added that requirement to the magic system page.

8/23/2005

  • Began adding main quest information...storyline, dialog, topics, etc.  Just for the beginning.  Lots more to go.
  • Sinister has been polling to see who still intends to work on the project.  Even with the new options on landscaping and NCP building it is going to take a lot of work to accomplish this.

11/21/2004

  • Fixed the website which had an error in the header.  I accidentally put the Calendar and Festival headings in the website header.

  • Started the questing for Kandor.  I was listening to the books and heard that Kandor had a merchant guild.  That of course set some ideas in motion and I wanted to capture them.   Questing for Kandor is on the Kandor page so take a look and comment if you want.

  • I will be adding questing to the bottom of each location page.  If you have some ideas on questing for a location, write it up and send it to me and I'll post it.  We can discuss it in the forums to flesh it out.  Location questing should be quests that have to do with a particular map location - something you hear about a town or nation and have ideas on how that can be put into a quest.  The quest would be given by a townperson.

  • I will also post any quests ideas you have for the different factions.  If you have a novice quest idea or an apprentice quest idea or whatever, send it to me and I will get it to the appropriate place.  At this time, you don't have to detail every little thing that happens in the quest, unless you want.  Just a general idea of what the quest would be about.  If you want to write up the dialog and branching and what not, that is fine too.  Eventually we need to do that.

11/19/2004

  • Updated the calendar and festival page.  See gameplay section of Design Specs.
  • Updated some Seafolk information
  • Listening to books.  Now on book 4 again.

10/29/2004

  • 1/2 the way through the 203 page concordance!!!  Lots of locations and information in this document.

10/7/2004-10/26/2004

  • Continued work on adding the Concordance information into the proper locations in the design specs.  After this is complete, then lookup of the individual references can be done for descriptions.  I will work on the locations assigned to me first.  Later I will work on the rest if no one else does.
  • Working on the Food sheet.  Items found in the Concordance are added to the food sheet.  Crops and livestock can then be figured out by what different nations eat.  Eventually we will have a pretty complete vision of what each nation looks like and produces.  This will help a lot when modders are making their farms and industry for the towns.

10/6/2004

  • Continued work on bringing the information in the Concordance into this design document.
  • Modified the hierarchy of the Geography section.  Continued work on the Aiel.  Created a new page for the Seafolk.

10/5/2004

  • Working on getting the concordance information in the various sections.  Put the Aiel information in the Aiel section under geography.  It is just in draft and put in preliminary groups.  Subgroups and reformatting to come next.  Looking up some of the items in the books needed as well.
  • Hopefully have enlisted Balor into doing some of the research and documentation regarding the One Power, spell casting, and global scripting.

10/4/2004

  • Began some drafts of new pages in the Gameplay and Story/Quests pages in the Design Docs.
Entertainment, economy, calendar and festivals, general dialog sayings.  All pages are draft and may morph into other pages.

10/3/2004

  • Kiriel is back!!!
  • Sinister and Kiriel are discussing where to go with this mod since the announcement of Oblivion.  We are deciding whether we want to work on the planning of this mod and then be ready to go to town when Oblivion and its construction kit is released or if we should continue on using the current Morrowind engine.
Pros:  There is a awful lot of things that can be done, that need to be done, the should be done before this TC is completed.  Much of that is in the planning phase.  Getting full descriptions of the towns and cities and landscape.  Listing the plants and herbs and animals and the alchemy that results.  Writing all the quests and the main storyline.  The more we get into this, the more we know can and should be done upfront so that when we do put it in the mod we don't have to keep changing and fixing things.
We can also work on making some of the meshes.  Those can be transferred from 3dMax into whatever is needed for the new version.
Cons:  None really except we might lose some of the people that want to help NOW.  That want to get into the CS and do things.
  • Anyway, we will let you know where we are going on this at a later date.
  • Also, it seems we have lost our forums.  That is another thing we need to check out.

8/22/2004

  • No, we haven't disappeared.  We have just taken a break now.  Doing some summer things.  Getting our heads clear.
BUT we are still around.  The project is still ongoing.
  • Sinister is still working on getting the road statics working right.
  • I has been doing a little work learning 3dmax.  I want to be able to mod the ingredient/plants I need before I push out the ingredient mod.  Right now, don't use ingredients.  They will all change.

7/28/2004

  • Continued work on the ingredients.  Retextures, reassigning effects, creating icon and mesh textures.

Date:  7/26/2004

  • No update on anything but the herbs.  I have finished the WOT1Flora.ESP but will release that when I release the ingredients.  I am updating plant names and plant containers and ingredients for all known plant herbs.
If you have any ideas about adding some additional plants, let me know.
ETA will be sometime next week.  It takes a while to set this all up.

Date:  7/18/2004

  • Changed the structure of the site somewhat.  Moved all the plants, alchemy, food, etc to the new Items section inside of Design Specs.
  • Creatures now contain a full list of animal creatures needed for the mod.  Some of the monster creatures need to be added.
  • Alchemy sheet now contains a full list of the herbal/alchemy items in the book.  This now needs to be translated into existing morrowind plants, retextures, new models, etc.  It also needs to be fleshed out with some additional items from the animal kingdom.
  • Plant Sheet is new and contains all the known plants in WOT.  This needs to be associated with all the existing mods and Morrowind trees and plants and such.
  • Spell Sheet is the same, it still needs a lot of work.

Date: 7/16/2004

  • Updated the alchemy/ingredient page with all the known herbs in WOT.  Spells_Herbology.htm
Both the books and a few items from the MUD.
Now we just need to add some more we make up, some animals, etc to balance it all out.

Date:  7/15/2004

  • I am working on the WOT1Flora.ESP file.  About 1/2 done adding all the different plants found in other mods.  See tracking sheet at ESM_ESP_Build_Tracking.htm for updates.  Let me know if I missed any treepacks.
  • Added some more to the WOT1Architecture.ESP as well.  Check the tracking sheet for that information.

Date:  7/13/2004

  • I updated the WOT_Base.ESM...once again.  Cleaned it up a bit.  Removed all duplicate meshes I could find.  And lots of activators that were duplicate meshes.  Please download the latest greatest from Modder's Resource.
No reason to have a banner for every Morrowind town...

This ESM will continue to be updated as I cleanup activators that are no longer needed, move some activator meshes into the statics, and just do general fixing.  Later we will be merging additional things in.

  • Kiriel is continuing work on Far Madding.  Screenshots just a few days away.  50% exterior work completed on one village.  The rest should be easier since all the exterior statics that needed retexturing are almost done.
....another reason to cleanup the base ESM.  To make room for our own items.

Date:  7/9/2004

  • New WOT_Base.esm has been uploaded.  See Modder's Resource from the main menu.
The doors have been whittled down to one version of each mesh.  Additional meshes were deleted.
Interesting note:  I tried this first with Enchanted Editor and the resulting file crashed the Construction Set.  I tried again storing the deleted doors in an ESP and then merged the two.  This worked.  It is a mystery why things work sometimes with EE and sometimes they don't.

Date:  7/8/2004

  • Completed most of the text for the General building guidelines.  Still have some opens on trades in holds and steddings.  Maybe some more that our team can contribute.
  • Kiriel working on Far Madding.  A draft of the island and villages has been completed.  General buildings come next.
  • Downloaded d'nib's 500 statics.  Will add those to the appropriate ESP's.  Not in a real hurry until a team member tells me they need the additional items of x type.  Then I will really jam on completing those ESP's.
  • The forum boards are very slow.  I see some views in Lady M's for our Wheel of Time Mod but no responses.   Maybe it is just me looking, don't know.  Even the main WOT forum on Lady M's hasn't had much activity.

Date:  7/4/2004

  • Steddings have been added!
See the map grid in links from 7/2/2004
Download the ESM's at Files and Pictures.  All map segments are now new with steddings.
I promise, the map segments are stable for a while.

Date: 7/2/2004

Date:  6/28/2004

  • Sinister is Back!  Yeah!
Sinister was working a contracting job this last week.  He is back, but only has pocket lint :-)
  • Now Kiriel needs to finish the ESM's so people can get started.
    Status:
    1)  Maps and grid:  98% done.  All towns, cities, villages placed.  Need a few more steddings.  Check the roads.  Some mines.  Etc.
    2)  Base ESM:  complete including Regions.  Missing all but 3 races, classes not done, skills not done, factions not done, NCP's not done, etc.  All Morrowind/Tribunal/Bloodmoon objects placed.
    3)  Map ESM:  3 segments complete.  9 to go.
    4)  Instructions for download, install, work, and merge - need to be documented.
    5)  Merge tests:  completed.  documentation needed to be complete.

Date:  6/27/2004

  • Visit the map grid - Base_ESM_Build.htm
We need opinions on placement of everything.
I worked very hard to research where everything should be.  A small number of locations are outright guesses.  Most are based on book descriptions of the location or other clues.

  • Still working on the map, see link below.
90% complete on plotting out cities and regions for the large map.

  • There doesn't appear to be any way to make this map smaller and keep all the known locations.  I expect as more books are written, this map would have been better served to be even larger.  But, it isn't feasible to make it larger.

  • I am working on a method of using the 12 map segments for ESM's.  People will only load the segments they need.
At the end, we will merge all segments into one and smooth the joins.  Smoothing of the joins should take one person about a week.

  • Sinister is still out of town.  Other members are finishing up on school or taking a break to have fun.  When summer kicks in, I hope we will have the team engaged.  I think it is one more month or so before we can really start heavily recruiting.  We will really have something to show people that we have gone farther than the planning stage.

Date:  6/22/2004

  • New map grid has been created.
ETA on new blank ESM: 6/26/2004
ETA on city placement on grid:  6/28/2004
Location of ESM build information:  Base_ESM_Build.htm
  • ESM will now be bigger.  See above link for size information, tasks, and status.

  • Upgraded the website to 250 MB.
We were at 83 MB and our limit was 100 MB.  It was time to upgrade the space.

  • A note was sent out to members of the Lady M's Wheel of Time Mod forum members to ask what their summer plans are for the mod.  I am trying to get a list of those who are still going to work on the mod and drop out those who volunteered a long time ago and moved on.

Date:  6/19/2004

  • I fixed the WOT1Item.esp.
I had some of the meshes in the wrong place and moved them to the activator section.  I also moved some of the architecture meshes to the WOT1Architecture.ESP.  I am working on that one now....
Since no one is using these now, I may reorganize things.
  • Sinister and I are working on the map again.
Since no one is using that yet either, we are fixing the rivers.  We might make it a little bit bigger as well.

Date:  6/15/2004

  • TBonez has taken on the job of researching some of the locations as well as weaves and ingredients.  Yay!
  • Kiriel added logic to the magic system page for areas such as Far Madding and steddings that don't allow magic.  It has yet to be told if a well will work in a stedding.

Date:  6/14/2004

  • Added Armor/Clothing/Weapons to the Character section.
Began work on listing all the clothing mods, what they contain, what bodies they go with, etc.
  • Added the Spells/Herbology/Food to the Gameplay section.
Need people to start jotting down when they read of herbs used and what they do.
  • Added Creatures sheet to the Creatures section.
I need to add all the creatures from the WOT1Creatures.esp plus all the animals in WOT we need modeling to add.
  • Added some quests to the quest sheet.  Need people to send in their quest ideas that they want to implement.
  • Added some existing scripting and owners and cleaned up the Gameplay_Scripts sheet.

Date:  6/13/2004

  • Added a new map grid that shows the cities as their full size and coordinates.  ftp\Maps\WoTGrid2_WithCities.jpg
Note:  coordinates stated on regions sheet might not be the center of the 9 cell cities.  I moved them a bit for better placement.
  • Joachim is going to start looking into Public Relations tasks.  He will post something on Morrowind Source.  Maybe in the forums.
  • Added a new page on ingredients and weaves and food and such.  Items.  It is located off of the gameplay page.

Date:  6/12/2004

  • Updated the ESM.  Added the Bloodmoon exterior colony buildings.  These got left off because they were activators in Bloodmoon.  Go to the Modder's Resource and download the latest version of the ESM.
  • Added the Far Madding map to the Far Madding page.  I took a picture of it with my digital camera.  If someone could scan the image and send it to me in that would be great.  It is in Winter's Heart, Chapter 22.
  • Completed the re-org of the website.  All the documents are now in folders that match the website navigation.  I can now start restricting sections if we like.
  • Joachim has taken on the public relations job for our mod.  He is going to start making a webpage for Morrowind Source.  He is also going to put together a proposal on what we will talk about and what we won't.

Date:  6/10-11/2004

  • Completed all the text descriptions for Far Madding from Winter's Heart.  That is all there is in any book so far.  Can't wait to get started on this one since I am assigned this city.
  • Updated the regions sheet with the coordinates for all the cities.  Still need to do the villages and large areas like forests and plains.  Most villages are guesses since they are not shown on a map and you have to figure out where the town is by the description and the journeys.
  • I added the larger version of the map to the ftp/map section.  I had a smaller version but you couldn't read the numbers.  This one is over 2MB.  I also moved a few cities and added the missing ones from the map in the inside cover of the books.
  • Removed people from the Yahoo group who had not posted in any thread.  I have asked for everyone to respond.  A few members haven't written anything in a month or two.  If they have dropped out, I want to drop them from the group.
  • Joachim brought up security so I sent out a message to the Yahoo group regarding security of the website and forums.  I hope some people answer on this one so I can fix any web problems, and get people onto Lady Morraine's forums.
  • Began a section on magic items under gameplay/magic system.  I am currently compiling a list of the known ter'angreals and what they do.  And a list of possible ones that could be found.

Date:  6/9/2004

  • Added a section in gameplay for Tel'aran'rhiod.  It contains the requirements and possible ways of dealing with it in code.

Date:  6/5/2004

  • Lord Raven is continuing work on the One Power/Void mod.  The work in progress mod has been uploaded to the download section.  He has changed some of the skills to the 5 powers.  Kiriel updated the Character Sheet to show the different skills and how they will be changed for the mod.  As always, it is just a draft.
  • Lord Raven, Sinister, and Kiriel had a number of messages flying back and forth on how to handle channelers for the mod.  We are still in debate.  See the Yahoo forum and join the debate.   Lord Raven needs some more work to determine how channeling should be scripted.
  • Sinister uploaded a document describing the various monsters and pictures of them.  See the files and pictures section, Pictures/General.
  • Kiriel is in the process of changing some of the gameplay section on channeling.  Please join the debate mentioned above to help us get this going.  It sounds like we could have some startup quests for channelers, if we all agree.  Drafts will be placed in gameplay.

Date:  6/3/2004

  • Added Lord Raven's esps to the ftp download site.  Check the Scripts and esp's section.
I will add information on this to the gameplay page in the Design Specs.
  • Added better instructions for uploading files.  That on the Files and Pictures page.
  • Continued work on WOT2Items.esp.  Check the ESM ESP tracking document.  Link on the home page.

Date:  5/31/2004

  • WOT1Creatures is available!
Download it from the Modder's Resource

  • Finished all but two mods for the WOT1Creatures.ESP.  See the tracking spreadsheet, link off of home page.  There are also some links to screenshots for some of the creatures.  I will add pictures for all creatures by the end.  They can be used as resources so the modder can easily see what number goose/duck/cow/etc to insert for the particular animal.
I will place the completed ESP and files on the website tonight.  It may be updated at a later date if I find new creatures.

Date:  5/25-27/2004

  • CLEAN BASE ESM Ready!
    Download it at: Modder's Resource
All items from unknown mods removed.  Contains only items from Morrowind, Tribunal, and Bloodmoon.
Additional items will be added back in the esp's discussed below.

  • Continued work on cleanup of base ESM and WOT2Items.esp.  The different esps will be named according to what is added:  WOT1Creatures.esp, WOT1Architecture.esp, WOT1Flora.esp, WOT2Items.esp, etc.

  • Downloaded many mods with items.  All the trees, architecture, furniture, animals, and other items I could find.  They will be packaged into other esp's to be downloaded by the modders of our mod.  This will allow everyone to use the existing items.
When we finish the mod, we will delete all the items no one used.

Date: 5/24/2004

  • I am creating a second ESP with models.  This one contains all of the farm animals and woodland animals found.  Includes pigs, goats, geese, ducks, chicken, cows, horses, donkeys, dogs, snakes, ravens (no flying ones found yet), deer, etc.  It also contains many of Lord Yig's tapestries and rugs.  ETA for release is 6/1/2004.  See ESM_ESP_Build_Tracking.xls or ESM_ESP_Build_Tracking.htm for full list of mods.
  • I am modifying the base ESM to remove the additional items that are not in Morrowind, Tribunal, or Bloodmoon.  Those meshes, textures, icons, sounds, etc are not packaged with the ESM and the mods that own them are not recorded anywhere - no download links or anything for the team.  I will add additional models as I find them.  email me know if there are meshes from any particular mod you want in the Wheel of Time mod and I will add them to one of the packages.  ETA for remake of base ESM, June 1st.

Date:  5/20/2004

  • Completely revamped the Builders Resource.  Found a ton of additional trades so I reorganized them.
  • Put in the known portal locations on the regions sheet.

Date:  5/19/2004

  • SinisterDeath has associated the Wheel of Time usergroup on Lady M's site to the Wheel of Time Mod Forum.  You can get into the forum if you are in the usergroup.  PM Sinister if you want in.
  • Added Waygates and Portal Stones to the Regions sheet.  Still need to confirm locations of the portal stones as well as exact locations of each waygate.
  • Added a lot more Caemlyn descriptions from the book.  Almost all from TEotW is complete.  Just the stableyard and waygate to go.  But, there is plenty more in other books.
  • Added a bit more to a number of pages, little things here and there.
  • Revised, again, the Modder's Resource page after input from SinisterDeath.  Fixed the wot1items.esp so that it has no dependencies on any parent master...such as Morrowind, Tribunal, or Bloodmoon.    Repacked the rar file and uploaded it to the website.
Let us Sinister and I know if there are any issues with the instructions or you would like anything added.

Date:  5/15/2004 - 5/15/2004

  • Changed the format of the region sheet: http://www.wheeloftimemod.org/Regions.htm.  Removed all descriptions and put them on the website pages.  Put in obvious hyperlinks to the WOT Encyclopedia site and this website for every location.
  • Added the Ogier Steddings to the regions sheet.
  • Revamped the entire set of inhabited location pages.  All 10 nations, Aiel Waste, Independant City States, Other Inhabited Regions pages.   They are just waiting for the book descriptions and other information.
  • Added a lot of description text for Andor.
  • Updated the Modder's Resource with better instructions and information.

Date:  5/14/2004

  • Added the Modder's Resource on the main menu.  This contains links to files that new modders will need.  Still need SinisterDeath's instructions and confirmation.
  • Grouped both upload and view files onto one page called Files.  This gave more room for Modder's Resource page.
  • Added more items to the Building Guidelines page.  Organized this a bit more.  Would appreciate someone going over it and makig suggestions.
  • Updated the Andor page.  Added book descriptions of Baerlon and its buildings.

Date:  5/7/2004

Date:  4/22/2004

  • Kiriel added some new screenshots of the Silver Breeze in Tanchicho.  They are very rough drafts.  Feel free to comment.  Decorations need to be added.  Doors to the island tables.  Bottles in the wine racks.  The third floor interior private rooms.  The basement wine cellar.  More ambiance.

Date: 4/5/2004

  • Added the FTP file upload area.  You should be able to copy and paste just using your browser.
Email me (Kiriel) for the password.
Read the rules on the Upload Files page before you upload any pictures.

Date:  4/2/2004

  • Sinister is still working on the map and getting in dummy cities.  So far, the map is too small for the city size designed.  There are 6 villages between Whitebridge and Caemlyn.  Sinister's map is holding only Caemlyn and Whitebridge with no villages in-between.
  • Everyone seems to be taking a break, including me.  Sinister is playing Warcraft.  I (Kiriel) am gardening and doing a lot of night and early morning work with India for my job.  Lord Raven is working on an old RPG he is developing.  TZBones is up for anything on the mod.  If Sinister has some work he wants done on the map tests, TZBones seems like the one to work with.

Date: 3/16/2004

  • Added Sinister's new mapping grid on the Design Specs\Geography page.
  • Added a search page.  Put in any word and search for web pages containing that word.
Frontpage extensions are so cool.  Definitely worth the monthly cost of this website.

Date: 3/13/2004

  • Added Sinister's map grid in Design Specs\Geography.  This may be abandoned because Sinister is trying another method to determine city coordinates.  Anyone who has any ideas please contact SinisterDeath.
  • Added to the regions.xls the towns between Whitebridge and Caemlyn for our map test.  See Regions, Towns, Landmarks, Geography - html sheet
  • Waiting for Sinister to provide coordinates for cities and town so that the volunteers can create the dummy cities.  This is for the size test of the map.

Date: 3/7/2004

  • Added the private forum at Lady Moiraine's to the links page.  We will use this for all our modding conversations.  Except for those we want the public to participate in.
  • Sinister, Lord Raven, and myself (Kiriel) had a long discussion on the map.  We are delaying the release for a month due to not being ready.  We are testing map size, map stability, etc.  We are looking for testers.
  • In the meantime, continue work on your cities.
  • Modified the character sheet, the schedule sheet, the to-do list, the region sheet.  Small mods.

Date 3/6/2004

Kiriel here.  Sorry for being gone so long.  I was away from 2/20-3/1 due to personal stuff.  My ex from a long time ago passed away and I had a lot of work back in Chicago to do to help my "ex" daughter get everything organized.   I didn't log in at all during that time.  But, I am back.

  • Sent out message to everyone to start typing up their city description from the books.  Haven't received anything yet so assuming no one is ready to work on their city.
  • Added eamonvalda to Amador.

Date: 2/14/2004

  • I am seriously in love with FrontPage 2003.  Anyone else have it?  And in love with my new website.  I don't know how to do everything but will soon.  Pages will soon become locked to members only.  If you haven't signed up on Yahoo WOT Mod group, please do so.  I will be using those names and sending everyone their passwords.
  • WIP - Lady Moiraine's forums are really starting to heat up.  A few private discussions are moving to Yahoo groups.  Lews Therin is moving our mod discussions to a new forum at Lady Moiraine.   Be on lookout for that.  I will change any links here that point to the old Wheel of Time forum.
  • Sinister is still hard at work on the map.  He is trying to come up with the best map for starters.  The more he has in the map, the less we have to do in the construction set and the easier it will be to figure out where all our cities are.   Thanks for all the great work Sinister.  Let us know if you need any help or testing.
  • Added the links to all the suggested utilities on the links and download page.  If you have any additional utilities you can't do without and would like to share, let me know and I'll add them to the link site.
  • Added new interior retextures to the ESM building spreadsheet (see home page).

Date: 2/13/2004

  • Regions sheet has been updated with assignment requests.
If you haven't requested a location to make, please go to Lady Moirainne's forums and do so!
  • Website moved to new location.
  • Website has gone through an overhaul.  Style sheet and look has completely changed.  Site is being edited to make it easier to navigate.  Less words except for design area.  Less duplicate links.  Better hierarchy.  This is in progress and will take a few days to complete.  Please send Kiriel (me) comments and suggestions.
  • Some new members.  I still need to add them to the member page.  I did assign them their requested towns.

Date: 2/12/2004

  • Sorry for the long gap in updates.  My dog had surgery on the 2nd and while taking care of him I needed a break.  Kiriel.
  • New look for the website.  I still don't think it is ideal.  Someone, PLEASE HELP.  I need a background.
  • Split the landscape and character spreadsheet into two.  Maybe that will solve the issue of pages not correctly displaying what the tab says.

Date:  2/1/2004

  • Cleaner home page.  (Kiriel has been reading some website design articles.)  Cleaned up the character pages as well.
  • Added the Aiel text from Sinister's page to the Race page.
  • Moved the Race information from it's own page to the spreadsheet.  Spreadsheets are turning out to be a very easy tool to create these lists of things with information.

Date:  1/26/2004 - 1/31/2004

  • SinisterDeath has created several models of character weapons.  See the model's page under Design Specs.  Check the weapons section.  A draft model of the weapon is available.

  • SinisterDeath has continued work on the map.  The size of the map is causing some problems.  We are going to split the map into sections then piece them together.  At least for the draft versions.  This will allow us to get the landscape grayscale mapping right so we can make rivers and mountains.

  • Kiriel has created and added the project plan.  At a high level it is based on SinisterDeath's first draft of our build.  All the subtasks have been added as well as dependancies.

Kiriel was going blind while doing it so put it to rest for another day.  She hopes to go over the plan with some of the team members to ratify the tasks and possibly assign ownership.  At least to assign time lengths and such.

  • Kiriel added some more meshes to the base model ESP.  See the ESM ESP Build Tracking sheet link above.

Please, please, please submit some more mod suggestions of objects you want to see in this mod.  If you know of mods with additional architecture, furniture, boats, misc items, etc, send an email with the items and mod name.
Creatures, clothing, etc are needed as well although she will not be pulling those into the initial ESP.  Maybe farm and forest creatures though.  Not monsters.  This is only for the building of the land and interiors.

  • Kiriel removed the status page and fixed the links page.  Links page not complete.  Please send links to Kiriel for placement on the page.
  • Calling all team members!!
We need some help with some of the compilation of knowledge.  Please send an email telling what you can do.  Or volunteer for a task.  Here are some of the open items we need help on:

    - A screenshot of each human face from the game, expansions, and mods.
    - A screenshot of all animals found in mods.
    - Some book text about any city, landmark, village, etc.
    - Mod names that have clothing, items, architecture, etc that can be pulled into our mod.
    - Volunteers for taking over the compiling of descriptions of races, towns, people, etc.
    - Modeling work on buildings, creatures, etc.

  • Calling all team members!!
We need to have a few brainstorming meetings on classes, factions, what we should make playable in the first release.  And on getting the project plan ratified.  And on getting volunteers for the above items.  Look to Lady M's WOT forum in the next few days for announcements on when these will be.

Date: 1/25/2004

  • New page - ESM ESP Build Tracking, tracking page for models that have been pulled in.  Link also found on Models page.

ESP with new models will be merged with ESM before initial release.  Please send a note to Kiriel regarding any models that you think should be used.  I am organizing them so that our textures, meshes, icons, etc will not interfere with any other mod.  DO NOT add the models yourself at this point.  Kiriel will add all models to some ESP's and SinisterDeath will merge them with the map prior to release.

Later, after the first release of the ESM we will go over how retextures and new models are set up so they conform to our method.  (Or you can look at our Development Process and Standards page to start work on your own.) Any ESP's turned in with new items in the Data Files will be reviewed by Kiriel for conformity prior to being merged. We want everything that we add to this mod to be placed in our own directories.  Easy to track, easy to credit, easy to add, easy to remove, easy to package.
  • Kiriel is back from vacation.  I had some free hours but not all my programs so I worked on pulling in other meshes into an ESP to be merged with the main WOT esm.

I also worked on The Garden of Silver Breezes in Tanchico.  I had some common plain meshes that were made by Nubux.  Since I could only find them in French and there were no screenshots I played around to see what I could do with them.  It turns out they might work just great for the Garden of Silver Breezes.  So, I started a proto-type of this.

Besides doing the rest of my work on importing other meshes, I will complete this building.  I am working on some retexturing to get in the green and white marble.  It will be nice to have something to put out for screenshots.  It could help recruiting and getting some interest started.

Date: 1/18/2004

  • Kiriel:  Completed adding the farming meshes to a farm.esp.  There are 4 meshes that are still having a problem with missing textures but Dave Humphrey is taking a look at this.
-- Next esps:  fireplaces, dongle's items, some of Lady E's.  Some of those have high poly counts so only adding the ones with low and we know we need.
-- This is part of the prep of getting other mod's items into the base esm.  I am working on the items that I know will be used all over, rather than unique items now.
  • SinisterDeath/Kiriel:  Kiriel completed a prototype WOT map with rivers and mountains.  Sinister will take it from here and see if Terragen can also add roads.  Adding roads would save a lot of time as well.
  • Release of base ESM is probably being moved to the end of February.  So far, only Sinister and I are working on getting it prepared and we want to get the map right so no fixes are needed later.  Lord Raven has helped with city cell size discussions.
  • Kiriel:  vacation 1/21-1/26.

Date: 1/11/2004-1/17/2004

  • Updated additional characters, regions, classes, and factions.  See Design Specs and sections for additions.
  • Kiriel began work on farm mod.  Pulled in about half of the farming items and buildings.  To be merged with the master ESM for use in modding.
  • ESM update.  The map generators can put in the rivers and mountains.  At the least we will put in placeholders if we can't get really good looking features.  This will save a lot of time when landscape modders do their work.  They will only have to pretty up those geographical items, not figure out which cells to put them in, where in the cells, etc.
  • Investigating whether terragen can map the different textures so we can also do the roads and maybe other things such as pick the rock for the area.

Date:  1/10/2004

  • Added book descriptions of areas in Tear, Aiel Waste.  These are on web pages and not on the spreadsheet.  They may be transferred to spreadsheet later.
  • Continued work on character list.  Added a new column on spreadsheet with the NCP's title.  Fixed all Aes Sedai's tower/Salidar affinity.  Until we know when the mod will take place, not sure where to locate the NCP's.  Need to work on the story more and have a timeline.  Don't want to have to update too many NCP's while we thrash on what to build and many NCP's move around.

Date:  1/9/2004

  • Updated the character list.  Filled in some holes. The WoT Encyclopedia site has filled in a lot of the holes that used to be there.  We will be going back and putting that information in.  About 20 more NCP's added to the list of completed.  Still only 1575 to go.
  • Discussion between Kiriel, SinisterDeath, and Lord Raven on size of map, size of cities, etc.  SinisterDeath is making some dummy cities to get an idea of size.  We may do a lot of interior portions of cities to keep the distance between cities larger.  It is impossible to recreate the size of WoT world in Morrowind.

Date:  1/5/2004

  • Kiriel and SinisterDeath met in chat to discuss the classes.  A list of the classes from the WoT role-playing game and from Morrowind are merged and in the ever growing spreadsheet.  See links to both the spreadsheet and its web page form at Characters.
  • SinisterDeath and Kiriel also worked on the ESM creation.  A new method was found and we now have a blank esm with the landmass of WoT and all the items from Morrowind.  We need to continue brainstorming to determine everything that SinisterDeath will merge into the ESM prior to releasing it for modding.  Estimate release date is still 1/31/2004.

Date: 1/4/2004

  • Added the character list in web page format.  It is a quick Save As inside of Excel so I will be doing this each time the spreadsheet is updated.   Began work on the geography and towns page of this spreadsheet.
  • Added the Development processes and standards page.
  • Began process of converting the geography to a spreadsheet instead of the web pages.  It is contained in the same file as the character list.  Go to the tabs for regions and towns.
  • Dropped usage of the Yahoo groups at this time.  We will only be using SinisterDeath's forums right now.
  • New Issues page.  Any immediate issues will be a forum topic.  I am just posting this issue here first so we can start the process.  I or Sinister will post the issue in the forums for people to comment on.

Date:  1/3/2004

  • Lord Raven has joined the group!
  • Added some information on geography.  Mainly links to the WOT Encyclopedia for each nation and a space for us to put all the book copied descriptions of a place and maybe team member's comments.
  • Added the To-Do list.

Date: 1/2/2004

  • Added a complete list of all the NCP's.  It is in Excel spreadsheet format.  Click Here.  Only 75 contain the information out of the 1642 NCP's.  Some on the list are long dead and will be removed.  The list may go down to 1550 or so eventually.
  • Alignment added.  Found underneath Design Specs/Characters.

Date:  1/1/2004

  • Factions added.  Found underneath Design Specs/Characters.
  • Races added.  Found underneath Design Specs/Characters.
  • Storyline page updated with first draft of story dealing with factions.

Date: 12/29/2003-12/31/2003

Date: 12/28/2003

  • Beginning of the temporary website and web pages. Later this site will be moved to another location and the pages modified to be more interesting.  After we find a team member interested in web work.
  • Initial team recruitment and role assignments.
