The rules

  1. Make it small.
Please make sure your picture is the smallest size possible.  Always open the picture in a paint program and save it as a jpeg.  Even if the originating program makes a jpeg.
Many programs make pictures that are much larger than needed.  They can usually be resized and still look as good.  Test it out.
If your picture is larger than 500kb  and you just can't get it any smaller, email me and I will try to figure out what the problem is.
  2. Use the naming format below.  Rules_to_naming_files
  3. Use the correct folder, we'll never find it again otherwise.  See below for names of folders to use. Existing_folder_structure
  4. Please do not delete files unless you uploaded them and are sure they are not needed.
  5. Please overwrite files if you have a new version and the old one isn't needed anymore.

Upload a file

  1. Click on the link Right-Click Here to Upload Files.  Select Open in New Window.
  2. You will get the password window - if you haven't saved the password.
  3. Enter the password and click OK.
Email Kiriel for the password.  It will not be posted publicly and may change at any time.  There will be a notice that goes out if the password changes.
  4. The FTP file window will open.  The following is how it looks in Windows XP.  Other operating systems might look different.
  5. Open up the folder you want by double-clicking.
  6. Open up your Window's Explorer or Desktop or however you view files on your computer.
  7. Rename the file to upload according to the rules below.
  8. Right-click on file and select copy.
  9. Go to the FTP window opened in step 1.  Right-click and select Paste.

At any point, if you are asked for the password, enter the password.

Create a new folder

  1. Use the instructions above 1-4 to log into the FTP site.
  2. Open folders until you get to the one you want to create a folder inside.
