Quarries are all around so make a stony landscape in some areas at least.

Building exteriors

There will be a Merchant Guild House in every town and village.  See Questing for details on how used.

Need about 10 wealthy merchant guild member's houses.  Need about 15 middle class members.  Scatter throughout Kandor.  These houses will be used later for the Merchant Guild Quest.

Quarries:  don't know what kind of rocks but make about 5 quarries throughout Kandor, if possible.  3 will do if there isn't enough room.

Towns should be fortified like all borderland towns with walls, towers, and other defenses.  No one comes in after dark.

Ravinda

Need a noble's large house and grounds outside of Ravinda's for the Merchant Guild Quest.  This will be the noble that "owns" the village.

Description

Merchant Guild Setup Kandor has a merchant guild.  Create a quest that has to do with sabotage, murder, theft, etc within the merchant guild.

There will be a number of small quests to be detailed here that involve the merchant guild.   When the player comes to Kandor and asks for work, one of the options will be the Merchant Guild.  There will be a Merchant Guild office in every town and village.

Once the player begins the quests he will find that there are two factions within the guild:
a)  the ones in power since the beginning - supported by the nobles.  These members want to keep the power and laws as is even though it is skewed towards their trades.
b)  the ones that want change and more equality and wealth for all.  They want to break the dominance of the old faction.

There will be a leader of each faction and then almost all of the merchant guild will be of one mind or another.  Since there is an election coming up soon, the members wear an armband or something to indicate which side they are on.

The player's quests will start out non-political and then get more political as it goes.  Each faction will have their own quests that will betray the other side making the player either be totally mercenary or chose sides.  We will try to make each side look good for a certain type of person so that many people will want to chose sides and not just do everything just to get the rewards.

These factions are not joinable.  They are only set up for scripting purposes.  At least that is the thought right now.

Merchant Guild Seanchan Plot The smaller quests by the merchant guild will allow the player access to some letters  that when put together, detail the "Seanchan Plot" quest.  The letters will be labeled "This piece of paper appears blank but for some reason seems important.  Maybe you should take it."  Later, in one of the last merchant quests, you will learn how to make the invisible ink visible.

By the time the player has found the evidence that is needed to know there is a plot, the player will learn of a third faction within the merchant guild:
c)  the ones plotting with the Seanchan

The player will then chose who to tell about this evidence he finds.  Each power will have a different quest.  Once the player has picked one, the other quests will not be available.

A group of the shipping companies has met up with the Seanchan on Cantorin.  They have formed a secret alliance with the Seanchan for trade on the side of the merchants.  In return, they will ease the Seanchan's way into Kandor.  They will weaken the military at sea by sending those ships south or to Cantorin to be taken by the Seanchan.

The big plot that must be broken by the player is a hostage take-over of the children of the nobles.  The merchants have planned an event honoring the nobles by honoring the children.  The children, along with their guardians will be sent to Ravinda for a month long celebration of hunts, contests, etc.  The Merchant Guild has hired assassins to poison or put to sleep the guardians while other hired thugs will spirit the children away.  They will take them S.W. to the river Arinella to be placed on a disguised Seanchan boat.  The boat will then set sail to Coran Ford, a village just East of Bandar Eban in Arad Doman.  The children will then be placed on another ship, an ocean ship, and taken to Cantorin.

The plot is that the children will serve as hostages for the good behavior of the nobles.  The nobles will not raise arms when the armies of the Seanchan take over.  The Kandoris will not help Arad Doman or Saldaea when the Seanchan move through those nations.  If all goes well, the Seanchan will actually try to occupy Kandor first, in secret.

Note:  At no time will the Seanchan ever take over Kandor, unless Jordan's next book says they do.  No matter what the player decides to do it will all be very secret.  Maybe the kidnapping plot will fail no matter what side the player does pick.
