Wheel of Time:  Factions Some of these faction's quests will move into the main story questing.  The orientation of the faction will determine where the player goes to start the main quests.  Alignment is also a faction.  Example, if the player is an Ashaman he will get his main quest from Rand, if he is also a dark friend, one of the Forsaken will alter that quest.

  Description:  The national militaries are very similar.  A player that wants to be a warrior would probably first begin as a member of their national military.  Later they may join the Band or other militaries.

  Descriptions:  Mainly the Aiel would belong to these factions.  Other races could be adopted into the Aiel race but would probably need to go through a lot of trials to get there.

  Not sure if we can use this faction.  The faction would have to join and follow Faile and would end up following the main quest too much.  Would get orders from Faile and then Perrin (not captured with Faile.)  I think this faction would interfere with the main quest of our mod.
I would prefer that Faile learn something and assign the main quest, since it is her society.

Children of the Light Yes Lord Captain Pedron Niall; Lord Captain Eamon Valda 15 Children of the Light Dark friend   Two paths of growths in this faction.  Questioner path or military.  Could add spy as well but we have quite a few factions already.  Yes, the Children of the Light would love to own the object that the main quest needs to protect/destroy etc.  
Main quest given by one of the leaders or lead Questioners.  It just depend on when in time you get the quest since leadership has changed.
Definitely vote to keep this faction in.  Very fun for questing.

Dragonsworn Yes Masema 15 Masema Dark friend   This faction follows the prophet.  Made for the savage players.  They may pillage, loot, whatever and because they do it for the dragon and the prophet, they will rise.  
If the mod starts mid books the player could get the main quest from Messema.

Aes Sedai - Salidar
  Windfinders would get the main quest from the Mistress of the Ships. This one would have to be worked a bit for background story.  The Windfinders are under control of their captain and don't leave the ships.  There would have to be a reason that a Windfinder was assigned to go explore the world on her own.

If each ajah is another faction then this would split.  Maybe we could make dependant factions.  A player joins Aes Sedai, then goes through novice and accepted.  Then joins the Ajah faction.
Quest would be assigned by the Hall or Amrylin if there is one yet.

Same as above for Salidar.  It depends on where the mod starts.  If we start at the beginning, then it is all tower and later you can chose to be a Tower, Rebel, or Neutral.
If Neutral, you would get main quest from Cadsuane if main quest given mid book.
If Tower, then Eliada.
If Rebel, then Egwene.

Other Factions Illuminators, Guild of Unknown One per city 0 N/A Dark Friend   Mid-book, the Illuminators are disbanded, sort-of.  If we are giving main quest mid-book, then we would find someone who is supposed to still be alive and in leadership position to give the main quest.  Would need some detailed background to decide why the Illuminators would be involved in this, unless Rand or someone else asked them to get involved. http://encyclopaedia-wot.org:8008/organizations/illuminators.html
Tuatha'an/Tinkers/Traveling People Yes None 15 Rand Dark Friend   As stated for race section, this could be a faction as well as a race.  This would allow a player to follow the main quest as a non-violent person.  They could also go against the traditions of their people and be spies and do thieving skills.

Dark friends Yes Forsaken, Mordeth 15 one of the Forsaken All   Dark friends would be a faction on top of other factions.  Main quest could be given by either the other faction joined or this one.  Whichever, the Forsaken would change that quest so that it supports the Dark One.

  Ogiers is like the Tinkers or Sea Folk; not a true faction but a race that they "join" in order to get the main quests.  See Storyline for more details.
